Guide to choosing right moving boxes for your china

Moving boxes for your china are important.

Moving chinaware is a delicate process. It requires a lot of care and attention. By care and attention, among other things, we mean choosing the right moving boxes for china.

Choosing the right moving boxes for china – what should you know

China or chinaware is a delicate material, and it needs to be handled with utmost care. There is always a chance that your china will break, even if you are not relocating it. This is why it is best to entrust moving your chinaware to professional movers.

Your china needs moving boxes for your china.
It is best to entrust moving of your china to a reliable moving company. They certainly have moving boxes for your china.

However, when you’re moving your china, the chance of damage is even higher. This is why you need to gather some proper packing materials for it when you are in a process of relocation.

Boxes are not enough

Boxes are not enough for the safe transport of china, no matter what kind of boxes you choose. You need some protective materials too. Here’s what you need, other than boxes:

  • some kind of protective material for the inside of the box like plastic beans or ordinary newspaper (we recommend the former since there is a chance that ink from newspaper will imprint itself on your precious chinaware)
  • packing tape
  • marker
  • sticky tape
  • air-filled plastic wrap

The best option is a kitchen box

The best option is to use kitchen boxes. Those are special kinds of boxes with special partitions inside. Those partitions will keep your china in place. Those boxes are not only used for china. They are also used for a variety of different things like glasses and dishes.

But not all kitchen boxes are the same

Not all kitchen boxes are the same. You need to choose a kitchen box that is sturdy enough so your china won’t fall through. Also, it is best to find a box that has handles in the form of openings.

Some boxes are smaller, and some are bigger. You need to choose a box that will fulfill the requirements of your china. You need to find boxes for your china that are sturdy enough so that can handle the weight, and that are large enough for your requirements. This is even more true if you want to move your fragile items internationally.

The packing process

As we already mentioned, boxes are not enough for the safe transportation of your china. You need to pack your china properly for the relocation.

Chinaware on the street.
Having good boxes is not enough for a safe transportation of your china. You also need to pack them well.

It is always a good idea to hire professional packers, but if you want to do it on your own, here’s what you need to do.

Wrap your china

You need to wrap your chinaware before you put it in a kitchen box. Take every individual piece of your china and wrap it with an air-filled plastic wrap. Secure that plastic wrap with sticky tape.

Put it in a box

After you finish your wrapping it is time to put your chinaware in the kitchen box. Slowly lower your china in departments that are in the shape of your china. Do not stack multiple pieces next to each other.

Finish it off

In the end, you need to close your kitchen box, secure it with sticky tape, wrap it again with air-filled plastic wrap, and apply packing tape over all of it. Mark which side is up, and write ‘fragile on the box.

Shipping fragile items internationally – tips and tricks

If you have a retail business and need to ship goods to customers overseas or moving overseas, packing and moving items is part of the process. Moving overseas is stressful, even if you are not moving and you are just doing your business, your customers need to be satisfied with your service. So, be fully prepared and know how to do it properly.

Packing materials you will need

The first step is to collect all the packing supplies you will need. When it comes to shipping fragile items internationally, packing materials are the key to avoid damages. This is the list of packing supplies and equipment you will need.

  • Packing tape that is strong and wide enough. A strong tape will secure all your boxes.
  • Properly sized boxes that are not too big or too small.
  • Air bubble foil to wrap all your fragile items enough times.
  • Airbags to fill empty spaces in the box or packing peanuts.
  • Crumpled craft paper is also a good material to fill up empty spaces.

How to pack and protect items

Now, one of the most important steps is to pack your fragile items properly because they will be traveling for a long time. In this case, you have two main options – to pack items by yourself to look for the help of experts to avoid possible damage. If you don#t have any experience yet with packing and shipping fragile items overseas, you should ask professionals for help.

If you choose to pack all your items by yourself then, search for international moving tips and be organized.

  • When shipping fragile items internationally you must carefully wrap an item in a bubble airfoil.
  • Don’t use old moving boxes because you need firm and strong boxes that can survive the process.
  • Fill the bottom of the box with packing peanuts or other soft material you have.
  • Choose a moving box that is slightly bigger than your item so you can fill up space with soft packing materials.
  • Place your fragile item in the center of the box, carefully.
  • Close the box and tape it, but make sure to label the box on the top and on (at least) one side of the box FRAGILE. So, anyone that will carry and hold the box will know to take special care.

Don’t save on boxes

Don’t skimp on moving boxes, padding, or air bubble foil because if you make this mistake, your fragile item may be damaged. That is definitely not the goal.

Check the weight of boxes

The cost of your shipping will depend on the size and weight of your boxes. Also, there are some limits when it comes to shipping. For example, transport is the easiest and fastest when done by air but you can ship fewer items than if you ship it via sea.

Choose a trustworhy shipping and moving company

The entire process cannot be done without a proper shipping company. Research companies online and ask for recommendations, and choose a company with a long experience. Four Winds Bahrain is one of the options since they are long in this business and they have developed a network.

If you have a business and you need to ship items frequently, sign a contract with a company but choose them wisely. If youa re satisfied with the service, don’t change your partner.

Tips for moving into a newly built home – LA edition

A new apartment building perfect for moving into a newly built home.

Moving into a newly built home is both exciting and stressful. As it’s newly built, everything is, well, new. Untouched. Zero damage. This makes everyone very careful so that nobody does any damage by accident. And as you have to move into your new home, this is a very challenging task – not damaging anything. You will be carrying boxes and furniture which means that at some point you might do something to your home. A scratch, a bump, a hit. There are plenty of ways for you to do some damage while moving into a newly built home. That is why we decided to give you a couple of our tips.

Final inspection before moving in

Before you actually start moving into your new home, you have to take one last closer look at it. Check every part of your home both inside and outside for any imperfections and damages. If there aren’t any before you move in, if you do some damage during the whole process, you will be aware that it happened while you were moving in. If you don’t check for damages before unloading your belongings from the truck into your new home, you won’t be able to know when and how all damages happened. Check every corner of your home, check the floors, doors, and windows. Every part of your home!

Have a plan

It is very important that you have a plan while moving. This plan should contain all the information and the details regarding your move. This includes the unpacking process. If you want your unpacking to be successful and efficient, having a plan is crucial. You need to have a tactic. But your unpacking tactic has to match with your packing tactic. This all also includes a plan on how you will be loading your truck or how your Los Angeles Transfer and Storage movers will load the truck. This packing and truck-loading plan need to make sense. You need to read tips and tricks on how to do this right. And we have a couple of them for you.

Packing tips for creating a perfect packing plan

When it’s time for packing, you can just begin anywhere. Your home-packing process needs to make sense as we mentioned. This is why you are going to start by packing up your basement and attic if you have these two rooms in your home. Why? Well, this is going to take you the most time to do as most people keep a lot of stuff here. This is also where you will have a lot of decluttering to do. So, it’s best to begin by packing these two rooms first.

After you are finished with packing these rooms, move onto the other ones in your home. The next room you should pack should be the one you don’t need as much on a daily basis. You definitely need your bathroom and bedroom but you don’t need your living room, dining room, or guest room to live. You see, now your packing process makes sense.

A notebook, a pencil, and a crumpled piece of paper.
Having a plan makes you more organized which is what you need to be when relocating.

We also have some truck loading tips but we think that it is best to hire a crew experienced in helping people settle into their new homes. Loading a truck is a challenging task and if not done right, bad things could happen. Things could break and get damaged. And it would be a real bummer to have your belongings broken while in transport on the way to your new home. So, instead of renting a moving truck, hire a moving company.

You need proper packing supplies

Not only do you need a detailed plan and a professional crew helping you, but you are also going to need the best packing material you can find in order to pack your home for relocation. Packing supplies doesn’t just protect the things you are moving. It also protects both your old and your new home. This is why you need to make sure that the packing supplies you are purchasing are durable and good-quality.

One of the things that you must get is boxes that won’t break during the process. A lot of both cardboard and plastic boxes can break or open up during relocation. This might not sound like a big deal but you never know to which box is something like this going to happen. What if it happens to a box where you put your expensive china? As you never know, it’s much better to be safe than sorry.

Packed bag. next to a chair.
You can’t just use anything for packing your home for relocation.

Here is a list of all the supplies you are going to need:

  • boxes, both cardboard and plastic ones
  • bubble pack for protecting fragile items
  • packing peanuts for filling the empty space inside the boxes to prevent damage while tumbling
  • wrapping foil for protecting for furniture and securing the boxes
  • tape and tape dispensers.

You also need to protect your newly-built home

Packing your belongings well is not the only thing you have to do. You also have to protect your home. You are going to need some supplies. Blankets and thick plastic covers are a must-have. You are going to cover the floors with blankets and then cover them with the plastic cover. This way your floors will remain shiny and scratch-free.

You also need to protect your walls and doors. If possible, cover the walls with the foil too. But have in mind that this isn’t something you have to do if the rooms in your new home are big. This is only necessary for small rooms as you are more likely to damage the walls in them. If you want to add some extra protection to your doors while moving into a newly built home, you can use double-sided tape and stick mattress foam on them. This works great! You also need to make sure that you do your best to avoid damaging your home while moving out.

A wine cellar.

Having a wine cellar is a privilege. However, a wine cellar requires a lot of maintaining and moving it can be challenging. You have to be gentle towards your bottles when you’re moving them. You probably have a lot of expensive wine in your cellar and if you don’t know what you are doing, there is a chance that you’ll break some of your bottles. So, welcome to our guide to safely packing wine cellar for a move. In this guide, we are going to explore how you can pack and move your wine cellar most efficiently and without any damages. So, without further ado, let’s begin!

Check the regulation of the state you are moving your wine cellar to

As you probably already know, different states have different laws when it comes to moving and bringing in alcohol for personal use. Before you even call the moving company, you have to check the laws and regulations of the state you are moving to. If you are moving inside the state, there is no need to check the laws and regulations at all.

A lot of wine bottles you have to take a well care of when packing wine cellar for a move.
Packing wine cellar requires a lot of patience and preparation. For example, you have to check the regulations of the state you are moving your wine collection to.

You probably won’t have any problems, but it doesn’t hurt to check the laws of the state you are moving your wine cellar to.

You have to prepare the proper packing supplies before packing wine cellar for a move

Before you start packing, first you have to get your hands on wine packing materials. Here’s what you need:

  • wine shipping kits – Wine shipping kits are cardboard boxes that have a protective foam insert with holes. Each opening is designed to hold one wine bottle. Usually, wine shipping kits can transfer up to 12 bottles of wine. They are easy to get, and they are not that expensive. You can purchase them in your local wine store or online.
  • wine shipping crates – Wine shipping crates are the best way to move your wine collection. Those crates are sturdy but they take up a lot of space and they are fairly expensive. If you have in your wine cellar a mix of expensive and not so expensive wine, use wine shipping crates for your most valuable wine.

Get an insurance for your wine collection

If you don’t have expensive wine in your collection, breaking one or two bottles is sad, but it is not that big of a deal. But if you have a lot of expensive wine in your collection, it would be best to get insurance. Before that, you need to get the real price of your wine collection on the market at the moment of your move.

If you have an expensive wine collection, it would be better to have an insurance.

Get a moving company

If you have the proper equipment for wine relocation, go for it, move on your own. But, if you don’t it would be smart to hire a reliable moving company that can take your wine collection to the destination of your choosing. Make sure to get a moving company that will take good care of your wine collection.

Good luck!

How to pack a storage pod

Moving containers.

Portable storages are a great way to keep your items wherever you want and/or to move them with ease. But, there is a question – how to pack a storage pod successfully and not to damage your items? There are many different uses of a storage pod and no matter what the reason for renting one is, packing is an unavoidable step.

Tips to pack a storage pod like a pro

You need to spend time packing for a move and don’t underestimate it. Many people think packing will go fast, but if you have a lot of items, you will need maybe a couple of weeks to finish everything.

Putting items into a portable container

You need to know how to fill your container properly.

  • Large PODS have 4 tiers, medium have 3 and small have 2 tiers, so work through 1 tier at a time.
  • Furniture that is large and heavy must be distributed evenly because of the balance. Disassemble furniture that can be disassembled to pack a storage pod better.
  • To stack boxes easier, use similar size boxes. Buy enough cardboard boxes because they should not be overpacked when packing for relocation.
  • Heavier items and heavier boxes should be on the bottom, while lighter boxes should be on the top.
  • Items you need to unpack and unload first, put at the front of a storage pod.

Maximizing the empty space

What to do with empty space between boxes? How to use it? Don’t rent a PODS that is too big because you will pay more. On the other hand, don’t rent too small.

  • Use soft materials such as pillow and bags with clothes to fill up space between boxes. This way, boxes won’t around the container and your items won’t be damaged.
  • Narrow items should be near the ceiling such as bikes or golf equipment to use that space between boxes and container ceiling.
  • Also, you can put framed photos between boxes or other thin boxes to fill up empty space.

A box with fragile items.
Spend more time packing fragile items because even the smallest mistake can cause big damage

Protecting your items

No matter are you moving or you need just to store your items when removing home, all the items should be protected.

  • Wrap furniture and appliances such as washing machines with an air bubble foil or moving blankets if you don’t have foil.
  • Especially pay attention when packing fragile items. All fragile items must be properly wrapped and packed, in order to keep them safe.
  • To secure boxes more, use straps and ropes around boxes. Most storage pods have hooks where you can secure ropes.
  • It is not a bad idea to add moisture absorbers to prevent mold, especially if it is rainy season.

To pack a storage pod, you will need the right equipment, supplies, and help from a couple of friends if you need to pack large and heavy items.
